A person familiar with the negotiations said late Wednesday that Washington has agreed to trade Markieff Morris to the New Orleans Pelicans for Wesley Johnson.
There will be draft considerations in the deal as well, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the NBA trade call was pending.
Clippers deal Wesley Johnson to Pelicans
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers have acquired center Alexis Ajinca from New Orleans in exchange for forward Wesley Johnson.
The Clippers subsequently waived Ajinca on Monday.
Johnson averaged 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 222 games over three seasons with the Clippers. He made 53 starts during that span.
The 31-year-old forward has also played for Minnesota, Phoenix and the Lakers during his eight-year NBA career, during which he's averaged 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds.

The biggest move actually came before free agency opened, when the Lions slapped the franchise tag on defensive end Ziggy Ansah. In the time since, the team re-signed eight of its own players with expiring contracts and added 10 new names to the roster.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have signed center Wesley Johnson and tight end Levine Toilolo.
The team announced the moves Thursday.
Johnson started 15 games last season with the New York Jets. He was drafted in 2014 by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but did not appear in any games that season. He played in 10 games for the Jets the following season and made eight starts in 2016.
Lions add Wesley Johnson for offensive line depth
Allen Park – The Detroit Lions added some more depth to the offensive line Thursday morning, signing free agent Wesley Johnson.
A fifth-round selection out of Vanderbilt in 2014, Johnson spent the past four seasons with the New York Jets. He served as an injury replacement for longtime starting center Nick Mangold the second half of the 2016 season and maintained the job last season, following Mangold's release.

Jets fire offensive line coach Steve Marshall
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have fired offensive line coach Steve Marshall after three seasons.
The move Wednesday comes a week after coach Todd Bowles parted ways with offensive coordinator John Morton. The Jets have not yet hired a replacement for Morton, who was in the role for just one season.

Coach Todd Bowles said Friday that either Dakota Dozier or Brent Qvale will replace Winters.
Defensive end Leonard Williams completed the NFL's concussion protocol after being injured last Sunday at New Orleans and was a full participant at practice.
Gallinari out for Clippers until at least January
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Danilo Gallinari will be out for the Los Angeles Clippers until at least January with a partial tear of his left glute muscle.
The team said Wednesday night the forward from Italy will continue to rehab and be re-evaluated next month.
He missed 13 games with the strained left glute and returned briefly before sustaining a contusion to the glute muscle. Further examination revealed a partial tear.
Clippers end 9-game losing streak behind Griffin, Johnson

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker returned to practice on a limited basis after sitting out with a sore shoulder, while Brandon Marshall was out for a second straight day because of knee and foot ailments.
Decker says Thursday that he'll "be ready to go" against the Chiefs on Sunday in Kansas City.
Marshall appears to be more of an uncertainty and could be a game-time decision, although he said earlier in the week that he hopes to play.
Brandon Bass agrees to veteran’s minimum deal with Clippers
The Clippers and free agent forward Brandon Bass have reached an agreement on a veteran's minimum deal, the Southern California News Group has confirmed.
The move was first reported by The Vertical's Shams Charania.
Bass, 31, averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for the Lakers last season. He played for Clippers coach Doc Rivers in Boston for two seasons.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Clippers are keeping much of their bench together, including three-time Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford.
The team said Friday that it re-signed free agents Crawford, Austin Rivers, Luc Mbah a Moute and Wesley Johnson.
Crawford averaged 14.2 points and 2.3 assists in 79 games last season, his fourth in Los Angeles. The 36-year-old guard agreed to a $42 million, three-year contract offer last week.
