High winds expected in southeast Wyoming
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A high wind warning remains in effect through Tuesday for southeast Wyoming.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne said Monday that winds are expected to reach 35 to 45 miles per hour (56.32 kph). Gusts could reach up to 70 miles per hour (112.65 kph).
Travelers in vehicles with a high risk of blowing over, including camping and travel trailers, are encouraged to be cautious.

Wyoming one-kid school in Albany County
ALBANY COUNTY, Wyo. (AP) — Thoman Ranch Elementary in Sweetwater County has two students. There are a few other public schools in Wyoming with three students.
Notch Peak Elementary in Albany County, however, stands alone.
Ten-year-old Corinne Gaby is its only student and Ms. Lisa Geary the only teacher.

MEDICINE BOW, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is investigating two cases of poaching in southeast Wyoming.
On Oct. 20, Medicine Bow Game Warden Dylan Bergman was notified of a buck mule deer that had been shot from the road on deeded land. The suspects were driving a light silver or white newer Ford F150 pickup truck, with a full sized 4-door cab and a short bed.

The fire west of Wheatland has burned 44 square miles (114 square kilometers) as of Sunday and is 70 percent contained.
The fire in mixed forest and grassland in the Laramie Mountains has burned three homes.

Wyoming wildfire grows but firefighters increase containment
WHEATLAND, Wyo. (AP) — A wildfire in southeast Wyoming that has forced the evacuation of more than 50 residences has grown, but firefighters have been able to increase containment nonetheless.
The fire is burning west of Wheatland in areas of Albany and Platte counties.
As of Thursday afternoon, it has burned about 37 square miles (96 square kilometers) since it started last Sunday. Red flag warnings were posted for the area of the fire on Thursday.

Fisherman found dead in southern Wyoming reservoir ID’d
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who went missing while fishing in a reservoir in southern Wyoming.
Albany County Undersheriff Josh Debree says 44-year-old Rocky Federico, of Denver, was fishing on a float tube on Wheatland Reservoir No. 3 north of Laramie when a storm rolled through Aug. 19.

I25 in southeast Wyoming closed Monday
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Blowing and drifting snow forced the closure Monday of a 70-mile stretch of Interstate 25 in southeast Wyoming.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation shut down both lanes between Wheatland and Cheyenne late Monday morning and for most of the afternoon.
The highway was expected to reopen sometime later Monday.
