Police seek woman wanted in hit-and-run who posted photo

Wilmington police say on their Facebook page that warrants have been issued for 22-year-old Courtnay Danielle Lawrence on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon. Police say Lawrence was identified based on tips they received.

Dental board looking into charges against oral surgeon
WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina regulatory board says it will look into accusations that an oral surgeon sexually abused at least four patients while they were under anesthesia.
WECT in Wilmington quotes State Board of Dental Examiners CEO Bobby White as saying the board plans to act as quickly as possible, but didn't say when the investigation would start.
As of Monday, the board has not suspended Michael Hasson's license.

Citing a Wilmington police statement, news outlets report 55-year-old Michael Lee Hasson was arrested Thursday on three counts of sexual battery and one count of second-degree forcible sexual offense.

Lawyer pleads guilty in Harlem church theft
NEW YORK (AP) — A lawyer has pleaded guilty to stealing $600,000 from a Harlem church that he represented in a real estate transaction.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. says John Shasanmi of Wilmington, Delaware, put money from the Second Providence Baptist Church into his personal account, instead of in escrow.
Prosecutors say he also mailed the pastor a forged bank statement.

Live Oak Bancshares: 4Q Earnings Snapshot
WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) _ Live Oak Bancshares Inc. (LOB) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $10.5 million.
The Wilmington, North Carolina-based bank said it had earnings of 26 cents per share.
The bank holding company posted revenue of $62.8 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $46.9 million, falling short of Street forecasts.
For the year, the company reported profit of $51.4 million, or $1.24 per share. Revenue was reported as $211.8 million.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard has medevaced a woman from a cruise ship off the coast of North Carolina.
News outlets cite a Coast Guard release that says Carnival Pride crewmembers notified watchstanders on Monday that a 40-year-old woman had abdominal pains. A helicopter crew from Air Station Elizabeth City was launched to hoist the woman from the ship, which was approximately 50 miles (80 kilometers) southeast of Cape Hatteras.

The Ohio Auditor's Office announced Thursday Clinton Brown has been indicted by a grand jury on felony theft of office.
Auditor Dave Yost says donors gave more than $14,000 to the New Vienna Police Department K9 Fund in 2017, an account set up in Brown's name so he could purchase a police dog.
2 killed in violent crash near Philadelphia
FOLSOM, Pa. (AP) — Authorities have identified two men killed in a violent crash near Philadelphia.
Police in Delaware County say a car in Ridley Township went out of control, struck a utility pole and split in two.
Officials said 19-year-old Alexander Gray and 18-year-old Christian Bauerle, both of Wilmington, Delaware, were pronounced dead at the scene.
