Charlton winger Charlotte Kerr was hurt in a collision as United took the lead in the 10th minute of the second-tier FA Women's Championship match.
Charlton said players returned to the locker rooms as Kerr was treated on the field and they waited for an ambulance to arrive with one not already on site at the stadium in Kent, near London.
Davidson goes No. 1 in NWSL draft, will skip senior year
Defender Tierna Davidson, who decided to skip her senior season at Stanford to play professionally in the National Women's Soccer League, went to the Chicago Red Stars with the No. 1 pick in the league's draft Thursday.

Parlow Cone scored 75 goals in 158 international appearances from 1995-2006, winning two Olympic gold medals and the 1999 Women's World Cup. She was inducted this year into the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame.

US women to open 2019 at France, play Mexico in send-off

Afghan president orders probe into abuse of female athletes
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday ordered an investigation after the Guardian reported that members of the national women's soccer team were sexually and physically abused by men from the country's football federation.
The report in the British newspaper on Friday cited senior figures associated with the team as saying the abuse took place at the federation's headquarters in Kabul and at a training camp in Jordan last February.
Dorosy lifts Seminoles to NCAA women’s soccer title
CARY, N.C. (AP) — Dallas Dorosy made one more play for Florida State at another big moment.
Dorosy scored in the 60th minute to help the Seminoles beat North Carolina 1-0 on Sunday for the NCAA Women's College Cup championship.
Florida State (20-4-3) won the NCAA title for the second time. It also won it all in 2014.

ACCRA, Ghana (AP) — Nigeria won its 11th title in 13 editions of the Women's African Cup of Nations by beating South Africa in a penalty shootout in the final on Saturday.
The game ended 0-0 after 120 minutes and although Nigeria missed its first penalty kick in the shootout, when Onome Ebi hit the post, South Africa missed twice and the Nigerians prevailed 4-3.
Florida State women knock off defending champion Stanford
CARY, N.C. (AP) — Gabby Carle and Malia Berkely scored first-half goals on Friday night and Florida State snapped reigning champion Stanford's 45-game unbeaten streak with a 2-0 victory in the College Cup semifinal.
Stanford's school-record unbeaten streak was the longest for Division I women's soccer since North Carolina went 70 games without a loss from 1996 to 1998.
South Africa earns first trip to Women’s World Cup
South Africa earned its first trip to the Women's World Cup with a 2-0 semifinal victory over Mali in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Accra, Ghana.
Forward Thembi Kgatlana, who also plays for the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League, scored in the 31st minute to put South Africa out in front before Lebohang Ramalepe's goal sealed it with 10 minutes left. It was Kgatlana's fifth goal of the tournament.

Jess McDonald scored two goals and the Courage — who lost just once this year — won the National Women's Soccer League championship with a 3-0 victory over the Portland Thorns on Saturday.

FIFA to upgrade flights, raise prize money for Women’s WCup
LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — In a concession to women's soccer, FIFA will start funding business-class flights for some of the Women's World Cup teams traveling to France for next year's tournament.
Total prize money will also "significantly increase" from the $15 million shared among 24 teams at the 2015 tournament, FIFA official Emily Shaw said Thursday at the Women In Sports Law conference.
The total sum will be confirmed by the FIFA Council, which meets Oct. 25-26 in Rwanda, she said.

Sky Blue finished 1-17-6, struggling despite the addition of the former FIFA Player of the Year , a New Jersey native who came to the team in a three-team draft-day trade.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Yuika Sugasawa's last-minute header earned Japan the Asian Games gold medal in pouring rain in Palembang with a 1-0 win over China in the women's soccer final.

Lindsey Horan settles into role with US team, Thorns
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Had Lindsey Horan not become a soccer player, she suggests she might have been a tennis player.
One problem: She can't really play tennis.
