Rice put up 12 first-half points, a season low for the team.

Hollingsworth scores 24 in Western Kentucky’s victory
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Taveion Hollingsworth scored 24 points and Jared Savage hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with just over three minutes left as Western Kentucky beat Florida Atlantic 72-66 on Saturday.
Savage's shot began a 10-4 game-ending run as the Hilltoppers (9-9, 2-3 Conference USA) won after losing their three previous games by a total of five points.

FAU (11-5, 2-1 Conference USA) has won three of its last four games, while Old Dominion (11-5, 1-2) has lost two of three. It was just the second win in nine tries for the Owls in the series, and their sixth straight win at home.

FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) — Freshman Jaylen Sebree scored a career-high 21 points, including a go-ahead free throw, Jailyn Ingram added 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Florida Atlantic beat Towson 85-71 on Saturday in an Islands of the Bahamas Showcase matchup.

Lepichev’s putback lifts Florida Atlantic over UCF 80-79
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Anthony Adger hit four 3-pointers on his way to 19 points and Simeon Lepichev scored on a putback with less than a second to play to lift Florida Atlantic over Central Florida 80-79 on Sunday.
Florida Atlantic (2-0), which trailed the Knights (1-1) 37-31 at halftime, pulled even and then took a 53-51 lead on back-to-back rebound baskets by Xavian Stapleton and Lepichev. It was Lepichev's only other bucket in the game.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Aric Holman had 23 points to help Mississippi State pull away in the second half for a 109-81 win over North Florida on Saturday.
Holman was one of five Mississippi State players in double figures and the Bulldogs shot a season-best 62 percent from the field. The Bulldogs (12-1) also got 18 points from Quinndary Weatherspoon and Xavian Stapleton had 16 points, including 12 in the second half. Tyson Carter and Nick Weatherspoon each had 11 points for Mississippi State.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Xavian Stapleton scored 12 points on four 3-pointers as Mississippi State held off Southern Miss 70-64 in the second annual Capital City Showdown at the Mississippi Coliseum on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs have now four in a row over Southern Miss and are off to their first 11-1 start since the 2011-2012 season.
Mississippi State rolls to 92-61 win over UT-Martin
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Aric Holman had career highs with 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead Mississippi State to a 92-61 victory over UT Martin on Saturday.
Quinndary Weatherspoon also had 21 points for Mississippi State (9-1) and Nick Weatherspoon added 11 to aid a balanced scoring attack. The Bulldogs also received nine points apiece from Lamar Peters, Eli Wright and Xavian Stapleton.
Matthew Butler had a game-high 22 points for UT Martin (3-8) and Delfincko Bogan added 10 points.
Mississippi State looks for big jump in Howland’s 3rd season
It's year three for Ben Howland at Mississippi State, which could mean the time is now for the Bulldogs' basketball program.
Howland has a reputation for impressive turnarounds of programs at Northern Arizona, Pittsburgh and UCLA. At each of those stops, there were two tough years under Howland before a massive jump in year three.
Howland believes he has built a roster at Mississippi State that has a chance for the same kind of success.
