The Monarchs have claimed victory in 12 of their last 14 games.
Xavier Green added 13 points and five assists for Old Dominion (14-5, 4-2 Conference USA). The Monarchs hit 10 of 26 from 3-point range, 10 of 20 at the free-throw line and outrebounded Southern Miss 45-32.

FAU (11-5, 2-1 Conference USA) has won three of its last four games, while Old Dominion (11-5, 1-2) has lost two of three. It was just the second win in nine tries for the Owls in the series, and their sixth straight win at home.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Ahmad Caver scored 21 points with eight assists and Old Dominion snapped Morgan State's three-game win streak with a 76-53 victory on Saturday.
Caver was 9 of 15 from the field for the Monarchs (10-3). Marquis Godwin added 15 points, Xavier Green had 11 points and seven rebounds and Aaron Carver had 10 points and a career-high 20 rebounds.
Old Dominion shot 45 percent from the field compared to 28 percent for Morgan State and had a 48-31 rebounding edge.
Stith posts double-double to send ODU past Fairfield
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — B.J. Stith scored 28 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds and Old Dominion remained unbeaten at home beating Fairfield 79-69 on Sunday.
ODU (7-3) used a 12-2 run to start the second half for a 45-39 lead. Kalu Ezikpe converted a 3-point play and the Monarchs extended the lead to 50-41 with 14:33 remaining. Fairfield (2-8) staged a rally with a 17-7 run and went up 58-57 on Matija Milin's 3-point play 5½ minutes later.
Stith with 21 points as Old Dominion gets past VCU 62-52
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — B.J. Stith scored 21 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Old Dominion past VCU 62-52 on Wednesday night.
Stith was just 5 of 19 from the field but made all eight of his free throws for the Monarchs (4-3). Ahmad Caver added 13 points with five rebounds and four assists and Xavier Green had nine points and six rebounds.
Caver’s 24 points spur Old Dominion past Navy 67-44
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Ahmad Caver scored 24 points, B.J. Stith added 14 with eight rebounds and four assists and Old Dominion beat Navy 67-44 in Tuesday night's season opener, improving to 7-2 against the Midshipmen.
Caver and Stith, both named to the preseason Conference USA all-conference team, combined for seven of the Monarchs' 10 3-pointers. Xavier Green added 12 points with two steals, helping Old Dominion to score 12 points off of 14 forced turnovers.

Old Dominion dominates Maryland Eastern-Shore 83-44
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — B.J. Stith had 14 points on Monday night and Old Dominion dominated Maryland-Eastern Shore 83-44.
Michael Hueitt Jr. added 12 points, Xavier Green scored 11 and Trey Porter 10 for the Monarchs (5-2), who built a 37-14 lead by halftime and extended it with an 18-0 run in the second.

Old Dominion outlasts Towson 57-54
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — B.J. Stith scored 15 points and Old Dominion held off Towson in the final minute for a 57-54 win in the season opener for both teams on Friday night.
Xavier Green missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 22 seconds left to leave an opening for Towson in the final seconds, but Martin missed a 3-point attempt with three seconds to go and Green made both free throw attempts with 0.3 seconds.
