Xerox ends agreement with Japan’s Fujifilms
NEW YORK (AP) — Copier company Xerox Corp. said Sunday it was ending an agreement to combine with Japan's Fujifilm Holdings and is entering a settlement deal with investors Carl Icahn and Darwin Deason. Fujifilm opposed the move.
Japan’s Fujifilm to take over partner Xerox to slash costs
TOKYO (AP) — Fujifilm Holdings and copier company Xerox Corp. said Wednesday the Japanese company will take over Xerox in a restructuring intended to slash costs.
The companies said Wednesday that Fuji Xerox, their 56-year-old joint venture, will combine with Xerox, with Fujifilm Holdings taking a 50.1 percent stake in the newly formed company, New Fuji Xerox.
Through restructuring and other reforms, the companies expect to save $1.7 billion a year by 2022.

John W. Land, a regional sales director for Xerox Corp. and former professional football player, died on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017. He was 73.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1944, to the late J.B. and Emily Land in Chicago. He was raised in New York City. He graduated from Delaware State University in 1966, where he made the football team as a walk-on. Land was a running back and became team captain his senior year.
