"I was wondering," he said.

Goldschmidt hit two of Arizona's five homers, and the Diamondbacks avoided a sweep by pounding the Cincinnati Reds 9-2 on Sunday.
Daniel Descalso, Eduardo Escobar and David Peralta also connected for Arizona, and Zack Godley pitched 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball. Goldschmidt finished with three hits and three RBIs, and Descalso also drove in three runs.

MIAMI (AP) — John Ryan Murphy had a busy day at the plate.
Murphy drove in a career-high three runs to help the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-3 victory over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night.
"There wasn't a lot of runs tonight so it was nice to contribute to the ones that we did have," Murphy said.

PHOENIX (AP) — Mark Reynolds needed one game — and two big swings — to make his presence felt with the Washington Nationals.
After failing to find a job in the offseason, Reynolds homered twice in his first game as a National on Sunday night, lifting his new team over the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 to complete a four-game sweep.
"It's good to be back in the big leagues again," he said, "and doing what I've been doing for a long time."

He homered and scored three runs and made a diving catch as the Diamondbacks beat the Washington Nationals 5-4 on Friday night in the opener of a three-game set.
"I think A.J. was unbelievable all around today — at the plate and in the field," Arizona pitcher Zack Godley said. "There were also some other really good plays made behind me, but A.J. was lights out tonight."

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Blown out in their previous two games and losers of five straight overall, the rebuilding San Diego Padres desperately needed a strong performance from Clayton Richard.
The 33-year-old lefty came through with one of the best outings of his career, a five-hitter that helped the Padres beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 on Sunday.
"It was a big lift for what we've been through the last number of days," manager Andy Green said.
