Skinner seals Sabres comeback in 4-3 OT win over Kings
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Rather than lament another sloppy performance after being booed off the ice at the end of the second period, Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres decided to do something about it.
Eichel scored and had a hand in setting up Jeff Skinner's power-play goal 1:49 into overtime, and the Sabres overcame a two-goal deficit in the third to beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 on Tuesday night.
Lightning end Sabres’ winning streak at 10 games
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Cedric Paquette broke a tie with 5:41 left and the Tampa Bay Lightning ended the Buffalo Sabres' franchise-record-tying winning streak at 10 games with a 5-4 victory Thursday night.
Paquette beat Carter Hutton from then top of the left circle.
Dan Girardi, Alex Killorn, Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos also scored, and Luis Domingue made saves. Sam Reinhart had two goals for Buffalo, and Zemgus Girgensons and Tage Thompson also scored.
"Johnny Hockey" is getting an additional title: part owner.

Sabres sign Zemgus Girgensons to 2-year deal
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Zemgus Girgensons to a two-year contract.
The team announced the deal Thursday that carries an average value of $1.6 million.
Girgensons, from Latvia, is the last of the Sabres' restricted free agents to sign with the team. Buffalo's first-round pick in 2012 has 37 goals and 49 assists in 277 career games over four seasons.

Buffalo Sabres re-sign Zemgus Girgensons to 1-year contract
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Zemgus Girgensons to a one-year $1.15 million contract.
The Sabres announced the signing on Thursday, and a person with direct knowledge of the contract revealed the terms to The Associated Press. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Sabres did not announce the terms.
Girgensons was a restricted free agent, whose rights were retained by the team in June.
