Zhang Yimou’s ‘One Second’ dropped from Berlin film festival
BEIJING (AP) — The latest film from famed Chinese director Zhang Yimou has been dropped from the Berlin film festival for what the festival described as technical reasons.
A notice on the official Weibo microblogging service account for the movie "One Second" apologized but gave no details other than to say it was not possible to show the film at Berlin.
‘An Elephant Sitting Still’ wins top prize at Golden Horse
TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — "An Elephant Sitting Still" won the top prize Saturday night at the Golden Horse Awards, the Chinese-language version of the Oscars.
The film, whose director, Hu Bo, committed suicide before its release, upset the highly touted martial-arts epic "Shadow," by veteran director Zhang Yimou. Zhang won best director for "Shadow."

HONG KONG (AP) — Hong Kong actor Andy Lau has been injured while working in Thailand.
A statement from his representative said the 55-year-old actor fell off a horse and injured his pelvis on the set of a commercial Tuesday.
The statement thanked people who expressed their concern but said fans shouldn't worry. It said: "Mr. Lau is under the sound care of a medical team and all is fine."
