UGI To Begin Gas Main Project

June 6, 2018 GMT

WILKES-BARRE — UGI Utilities will begin a natural gas main replacement project this week along three blocks of North and South Franklin Street. The project will stretch from West Union Street to West South Street. The initial phase of the project will impact North Franklin Street from West Union Street to West Market Street, the company announced Tuesday. UGI’s Franklin Street project will replace 4,150 feet of gas main and renew gas service lines to 35 customers. The project is expected to last about four months. Construction will include daytime and evening hours, depending on the phase of the project and the potential impact on traffic. Residents may experience traffic delays, traffic pattern changes, temporary parking restrictions and equipment parked on the street. Drivers should consider alternate routes. UGI will work to restore areas affected by the construction to their original condition. — STEVE MOCARSKY
