Kathleen A. Law — Wabasha

Kathleen A. Law, age 74, of Wabasha, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Marys Campus in Rochester. She was born February 21, 1942 in Wabasha, the daughter of Paul and Clementine (Wolfe) O’Flaherty. She attended St. Felix High School. She was united in marriage to Richard Law at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha on September 25, 1970. The family lived in Wabasha until 1976 when they moved to Potsdam. They moved back to Wabasha in 1979 where they managed the Wilcox Campground for 10 years. She then helped her husband with his lawn care business. Richard died February 18, 2000.

Kathleen was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Wabasha American Legion Post #50 Auxiliary. Kathleen was an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan. She loved to knit and collect all things John Deere.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Joe Platteter, Sr., Fountain City, WI, son, Richard Law (Chelsey Drysdale), Kellogg, MN; five grandchildren, Zachary and Allysen Law, Joe Platteter, Jr., Shannon Killian and Chris and Heidi Hund; five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Cayden, Avery, Carter and Ben; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Karen O’Flaherty, Wabasha, MN, Rich and Barb O’Flaherty, Lake City, MN, Nancy O’Flaherty, Lake City, MN; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, parents, Paul and Clementine O’Flaherty, brother, Mike O’Flaherty and her beloved cat, Charlie.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Felix Catholic Church at 11:00am with the Reverend Father Gregory Parrott officiating. Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery, rural Kellogg. Family and friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Sunday from 4-7pm at which time a prayer service will be held and they may call at the church on Monday one hour before the Mass.
