May 10, 2018

EXETER — A borough man is facing theft charges after state troopers say he stole change and a car from the parking lot of Wyoming Area High School. Joseph Michael DaSilva, 28, is charged with theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, receiving stolen property and theft from a vehicle. Police say DaSilva was seen rummaging through cars parked in the lot at 20 Memorial St. around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. In the process, DaSilva stole about $4 in loose change and a 2013 Ford Fusion, police said. West Pittston police captured DaSilva a short time later, and he subsequently showed investigators where the Ford was parked on Pepe Court, police said. Magisterial District Judge David A. Barilla arraigned DaSilva on Wednesday morning and released him on $1,000 unsecured bail. — JAMES HALPIN
