Ohio Theatre spring film series starts Saturday
The Friends of the Ohio Theatre have announced a new spring movie series that begins this Saturday with “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” The six-part series features films including musicals and comedies sponsored by area businesses. Ticket prices for each showing are $5, except for the April 4 presentation of “1984,” which will be $1. Most of the films are sponsored by either an area business or local individuals. Proceeds from the series benefit the nonprofit group as it works to restore the theater. “After Gene Wilder passed away, we were flooded with requests to show his films,” Elizabeth Auxier, Friends of the Ohio executive director, said of “Willy Wonka” and “Blazing Saddles.” For more information, search for Ohio Theatre on Facebook.
