n The Pocatello Development Authority will meet at 11 a.m. today in the Paradice Conference Room at Pocatello City Hall.

n From 1 to 6 p.m. today, there will be a blood drive at the American Red Cross Blood Donor Center in Pine Ridge Mall. Make an appointment by downloading the free American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-733-2767.

n From 5 to 6:30 p.m. today, Zoo Idaho will host “Wild Winter Wildlife” at the Zoo Education Building, 3100 Avenue of the Chiefs. Attendees will learn about the unique adaptations animals have that help them endure the coldest months of the year. This week’s class is about bears. n Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 735 and its auxiliary will recognize several community members with scholarships or awards at its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Pocatello Elks Lodge, 410 S. Main St. in Pocatello.

n The Idaho State Journal’s offices will be closed all day both Thursday and Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The Journal’s circulation department will be accepting calls until 10 a.m. Friday only. If you have a newspaper delivery issue, call the circulation department at 208-232-6150.

n Puerta Vallarta, 160 W. Cedar St. in Pocatello, will host a free Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

n The Healing Center and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, 1125 W. Alameda Road in Pocatello, is hosting a potluck-style Thanksgiving Dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. Owner Jeff Hampton will provide deep fried turkey and asks that everyone bring a side dish or dessert to share. The dinner is for anyone who needs a place to go on Thanksgiving. n Everest Kitchen, located inside the Travel Lodge, 133 W. Burnside Ave. in Chubbuck, will host a free dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.

n The Whitworth family and friends community Thanksgiving Dinner will be from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Senior Activity Center, 427 N. Sixth Ave. in Pocatello. The dinner is free to anyone who wants to attend. If you need a meal delivered to your home, call the center at 208-233-1212.
