Billerica/Chelmsford Nets Shutout; Lowell Boys Skate Past Weston, 6-1
Kirsten DiCicco earned the shutout to power Billerica/Chelmsford to a 4-0 win over Acton-Boxboro during girls hockey action Wednesday at the Chelmsford Forum.

In other girls play, Tewksbury/Methuen blanked Westford Academy, 5-0.
In a boys contest, Algonquin doubled up Groton-Dunstable, 4-2.
MacKenzie Graham netted a goal and assist to power the offense.
Also netting a goal each were Maya Dube, Samantha Fantasia and Grace Flanagan for Billerica/Chelmsford on home ice. Earning an assist each were Rylie Jones, Kelly Harty, Julia Maybury and Victoria Apostolakes.
Tewksbury High’s Kelly Golini continued her prolific scoring with a 2-goal, 1-assist effort to lead the winners.
Cassidy Gruning netted a pair of goals. Tewksbury/Methuen’s lone goal in the first period came from Kaylen Taddia.
Lia Kourkoutas scored the lone goal for the Wildcats, who fell to 0-2.
Ryan Bunyon scored a pair of goals and Chris Blouin dished out a pair of assists to lead the offense in the Grey Ghosts’ season-opening non-league tie. Kyle Wizst and Tyler Guillemette notched the other goals.
Junior Ben Asselin, and sophomores Brendan DeMarco and Matt Asselin, each had two goals to lift the Red Raiders to a MVC/DCL Division 3 victory.
Andrew Kotsifas and Owen Goulette picked up two helpers each, while Matt Asselin, Thomas Hassett, Nick Mandeville and Shawn Spring had one assist each at the Tsongas Center.
Goalie Andrew Carrabis made 16 saves to notch the win.
Freshman goalie Preston Wilson was outstanding in making 36 saves to record the shutout.
He was helped out by Adam Berger, who scored a third-period power-play goal which was set up by Andrew Dickson and Kyle McManus, to lead Dracut/Tyngsboro to a MVC/DCL Division 3 league victory.
Scoring goals in the losing effort for the Wildcats (1-1) were Ryan Barrett and Dan Woods.
Bobby Lord picked up two assists. Anthony Cuozzo (27 saves) and Stephen Bowker (5 saves) split time in the net.
Andover scored two late empty-net goals to put the game away. Scoring his first varsity goal for the Lions (0-3) was junior Chad Lizine with an assist going to Jared Huggins.
Ayer Shirley 5
The Lunenburg/Ayer Shirley team sprinted out to a 5-0 lead and then held off Fitchburg/Monty Tech in Fitchburg.
Jacob Mauro and Jared Simmons each netted a goal and two assists for the winners. Also finding the back of the net for the Blue Knights were Sean Simpson, Connor Viviano and Nathan Handy.

Ben Peterson of Pelham, N.H., claimed a goal and assist to fuel the Cardinals to victory.
Bishop Guertin (2-0) also received an assist from Ryan Flynn, a Bedford, Mass., resident, and excellent defense from Aidan Wilkie, a Groton resident.
