Maverick PAC to Celebrate 15th Anniversary & Host the 2018 Mavericks Conference in Austin, TX
Washington, D.C., May 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Maverick PAC (MavPAC) will hold its annual Mavericks Conference in Austin, Texas for three nights beginning May 31st, with special guests Senator Ted Cruz (TX), Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, Governors Greg Abbott (TX), Asa Hutchinson (AR), Karl Rove and other prominent conservative leaders in business and politics. MavPAC was founded by a group of young political fundraising bundlers in Texas in 2004 and as the organization celebrates its 15th anniversary, it appropriately returns to its roots in Texas – the unofficial heartland of the Republican party. More than 200 hundred MavPAC members from over a dozen states will gather in the state capital of Texas.
“The Mavericks Conference is a unique opportunity for conservative young professionals to hear from our nation’s leaders in business and politics, while networking with likeminded individuals who represent the future of the conservative movement.” said MavPAC National Co-Chair Morgan Ortagus. “What makes MavPAC distinctive is the fundraising network we have developed of leading young professionals seeking new representation in politics. MavPAC members have personally raised more than $5 million in the last two elections cycles and we expect that number to significantly increase as we move forward.”
Other prominent speakers at this year’s conference include Representatives Carlos Curbelo, Mike Gallagher, Elise Stefanik, and Will Hurd, as well as candidate for governor of Hawaii and state Representative Andria Tupola. Additionally, Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Chris Destefano will perform at an after party for attendees.
“MavPAC has long been the leading conservative PAC for young professionals, and it has a proven track record of driving young people to the political process,” said MavPAC National Co-Chair Fritz Brogan. “Much of our success can be attributed to our annual Mavericks Conference, which always features an impressive line-up of speakers and special guests. Conservative young professionals eager to play a role in shaping the nation’s future will come together this weekend to hear from Republican leaders and engage in thoughtful discussion on advancing conservative causes.”
The Mavericks Conference is the annual gathering for MavPAC, the nation’s premier political action committee for conservative young professionals. The conference provides access to elected officials, national thought leaders, and high-profile CEO’s through low dollar events. MavPAC has contributed to 138 candidates since 2011. In the 2016 election cycle, MavPAC contributed more than $140,000 to GOP candidates running for Congress, and the organization is projected to contribute more than $200,000 by the end of the 2018 cycle.
MavPAC members attending the conference work in a variety of industries such as oil and gas, banking, consumer goods, food and beverage, marketing and communications, technology and politics. Past Mavericks Conference speakers include Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, former Governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney (MA), Secretary of Interior Ryan Zinke, former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, former Governor Jeb Bush (FL), former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, Governor Susanna Martinez (NM), Senator John Cornyn (TX), former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, CKE Restaurants CEO Andy Puzder, and General James Conway.
