Benefit car show planned
A car show is being organized to benefit a young Somerset boy with multiple medical conditions along with other children.
The #TeamEthan Car Show is scheduled for Aug. 4 in the Giant Eagle parking lot along Glades Pike in Somerset. Registration will take place at 10 a.m., and trophies and dash plaques will be awarded at 5 p.m. There will be a total of 37 trophies, including best car, bike, truck, tuner and clunker, and a kids’ choice award. Registration is $10 per vehicle. Admission to the event is free.
The event will feature music by DJ Fast Forward, a Chinese auction, food, including barbecued chicken by Creep’s Famous BBQ, and photographs for car magazines. There will also be goodie bags, door prizes and a raffle to win an autographed photo of Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown.
The event will benefit Ethan Gehman, a 2-year-old Somerset resident, and his family. Tiffany Kossarth, the executive director of TeamEthan, is his mother. Kossarth said the organization is working to obtain 501(c)(3) status to help more children.
“Next year we’re hoping to start taking applications for more families that need help,” she said.
Organizers are welcoming all makes, models and classes of cars, trucks, bikes, SUVs and even tractors.
Basket donations, vendors and monetary donations are being accepted. For more information call Kossarth at 814-961-1033 or Darlene Heitchew at 814-442-4429.
