Eleanor K. Marshall, 93, of Sheldon, passed away Thursday (Aug. 23, 2018) at Sheldon Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Saginaw, Mich., the daughter of Harry and Hazel Wilson Haynes. Eleanor married Francis G. Marshall on May 3, 1947, in Henderson, Ky. He preceded her in death May 21, 2013. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; five sisters; and one grandson-in-law, Joe McCabe.
Surviving are two daughters, Terry (Bill) Mabbitt, of Sheldon, and Stella Cyr, of Woodland; three sons, Michael Marshall, of Watseka, Maynard Marshall, of Sheldon, and Milo Marshall, of Sheldon; one brother, Tommy Haynes, of Florida; four grandchildren, Amy McCabe, of Sheldon, Cathy Mabbitt, of Watseka, Abraham Cyr, of Woodland, and Lance Minard, of Wisconsin; 12 great-grandchildren, Thomas, Max, Jack and Luke McCabe, Erin, Shayne and Kyle McNally, Abby and Moses Cyr and Ali, Ember and Gage Minard; two great-great-granddaughters, Riley and Peyton McCabe; two sisters-in-law, Elinor Marshall, of California, and Joan Marshall, of Colorado; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Marshall was a member of the United Church of Sheldon and Sheldon American Legion Auxiliary Post 393. She was a really good cook and operated a diner in Sheldon with Ada Glasgow. Eleanor enjoyed reading and the company of close friends.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Sept. 1, at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, also at the funeral home. The Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate. Burial will follow in Sheldon Cemetery.
