EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) — New leadership is about to direct a foundation established to help children whose parents are targeted because of their advocacy.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports http://bit.ly/1aij1mm) that in September Jenn Meeropol, daughter of Robert Meeropol, will take over leadership of the Rosenberg Fund for Children in Easthampton.

Robert Meeropol, who began the fund and is executive director, is the son of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, executed in 1953 on espionage charges in the delivery of atomic bomb secrets to the Soviet Union.

Jenn Meeropol says the fund's biggest change will be more of a presence on social media sites to connect with activists.

She says the fund is helping children of union organizers who were fired because of their activism and families of soldiers who refuse to redeploy and are jailed.
