Smoke Alarms Still Available

WILKES-BARRE — The Wilkes-Barre Fire Department has a limited number of free smoke alarms available from WNEP TV’s Operation SAVE-A-LIFE, the city announced Tuesday. The smoke detectors can be picked up at Fire Headquarters, 20-22 E. Ross St., and at Hollenback Fire Station, 1020 N. Washington St.  They are available for residential occupancies only, with a limit of two alarms per household.  If there is a special circumstance and installation is needed, call the fire chief’s office at 570-208-4261. — STAFF REPORT
