Cops: Milford man refused to leave house, destroyed property in Orange
ORANGE — A Milford man was charged after he was accused of refusing to leave a home in town and destroyed property, police said Monday.
Bruce K. Jelliffe, 34, of Milford, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and first-degree criminal trespass.
Officers were send to a home in the 300 block of Drummond Road on Aug. 18 shortly after 8 a.m. after the department got a call from someone reporting a disorderly conduct complaint, police said.
The officers’ investigation showed that a man, soon identified by police as Jelliffe, was asked to leave the home but instead stayed and destroyed property at the house, police said. Police took him into custody and charged him.
Court records show Jelliffe was released on a promise to appear and is expected in court on Sept. 20.
