Grandview Upper Elementary wins grant for virtual reality field trips
Highlands’ Grandview Upper Elementary School received a $2,500 Remake Learning grant, the district announced.
The Tarentum elementary school received the grant for a proposal by Principal Dan Gottron called “A Grand View of Learning” to send students on global field trips using virtual reality technology.
The money will be used to buy smart devices and virtual reality viewers for use in classrooms.
Grandview’s project was among 66 to receive a grant out of nearly 200 submitted.
Awarded by Remake Learning, the grants are funded by The Grable Foundation.
