SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Police have arrested a 17-year-old Southern California girl on suspicion of killing a 15-year-old boy.

Santa Ana police says they responded to a shooting report early Thursday morning and found Bryan Chavez dead on a street. A gun was found at the scene.

The girl arrested that day at her home in Orange on suspicion of manslaughter. Her name wasn’t released because of her age. She was taken to juvenile hall.

Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says the teenagers knew each other but details on what led to the shooting haven’t been released.
