Farm, computer equipment lost in The Rocks Estate fire
BETHLEHEM, N.H. (AP) — A forest organization says farm and computer equipment were lost in a fire in which a century-old building on an historic New Hampshire estate was destroyed.
Firefighters say the fire at The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem broke out Wednesday. The cause is undetermined.
The fire destroyed a barn called the tool building that served as an office and events center for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. Will Abbott, the society’s vice president of policy and reservation stewardship, said it’s committed to The Rocks being its North Country Conservation and Education Center for the long term.
The fire also destroyed another building that was used as a gift shop.
The New Hampshire Maple Museum is about a quarter mile from the site of the fire and was not damaged.
