Authorities arrest one, seek two others after drug bust in Goose Creek
Authorities seized illegal drugs, three handguns and more than $13,000 in cash from an apartment in Goose Creek on Friday. One arrest was made, but two more suspects are still at large, said Mike Cochran, a spokesperson for the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
The Drug Enforcement Unit of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office led the execution of a search warrant at Hallmark Apartments following a narcotics investigation. Officers arrested Terrelle Dashawn Bascon, 20, and charged him with a variety of drug-related crimes, including possession with intent to distribute LSD and marijuana and trafficking schedule IV drugs.
He was also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of violent crime. Bascon is being held in the Hill-Finklea Detention Facility on $15,000 surety bond per charge.
Police are still searching for Steven Connor Welch and Joseph Javan Williams, who are both 21 years old. They have each been charged with the same crimes as Bascon.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Welch or Williams can contact CrimeStoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111. CrimeStoppers gives rewards to tipsters who lead authorities to the arrest of wanted suspects.
The apartment where police served the search warrant is within a half of a mile of Goose Creek High School. Officers seized 2,119 grams of marijuana, 566 Xanax tablets and 10 doses of LSD, along with three handguns and the cash.
