Sheriff: 3 found dead in Georgia in apparent murder-suicide
BARNESVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Authorities in Georgia say three people have been found dead at two homes in what appears to be a double murder-suicide.
Lamar County Sheriff Brad White tells news outlets deputies responded Thursday to reports of unresponsive people at the Barnesville-area homes and found the male relatives dead. White says 50-year-old Al Ogletree was found dead just inside the front door of the first home. Deputies then found Ogletree’s cousin Frenchie Fambro and his stepfather, 88-year-old Charles Sutton, dead at the second home.
The sheriff’s office says a preliminary investigation has led authorities to believe Fambro may have been behind the deaths. White says each of the men suffered what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head. The state Bureau of Investigation is handling the case.
