Free Chamber music concert in Michigan City Friday, Sunday
MICHIGAN CITY — A gem of a music festival happens every August in Michigan City. Now in their 16th year, the Michigan City Chamber Music Festival will provide concerts this today at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 121 W 9th Street (Ninth at Washington).
Today’s concert will include works of Beethoven, Schubert and the contemporary composer Andrea Clearfield.
On Sunday the performers will provide music by Corelli, Copland and the contemporary composer George Crumb. The festival regularly draws from more than twelve outstanding professional musicians, both instrumentalists and vocalists, throughout the Midwest.
