Brewers Hire Kim As Minors Manager
MILWAUKEE (AP) _ The Milwaukee Brewers hired former major league coach Wendell Kim on Wednesday as manager of their Triple-A farm team at Indianapolis.
Kim, 50, was an infielder who spent eight seasons in the minor leagues ending in 1980. He was a coach with the San Francisco Giants from 1989-96 and with the Boston Red Sox from 1997 through this season.
``Wendell comes to us highly recommended for his baseball knowledge, work ethic and community involvement,″ said Max Schumacher, the Indianapolis Indians president. ``We feel he is well qualified to lead the defense of the Indians’ International League and Triple-A World Series championships.″
