2 Berkshire County men convicted of rape face sentencing
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Two Berkshire County men convicted of raping a woman will learn how much they will spend behind bars this week.
Jacob Hebert and John Jones Jr. are scheduled to be sentenced Thursday in Berkshire Superior Court.
Hebert, of Pittsfield, and Jones, of Lanesborough, were convicted last week of two counts each of aggravated rape.
The Berkshire Eagle reports that the victim testified at trial that she was in a casual dating relationship with Hebert, and she invited him to a Pittsfield home in January 2017 where she was babysitting. She said Hebert brought Jones uninvited.
She said she and Hebert had consensual sex, but then Hebert and Jones raped her when she objected.
Hebert took the stand to say the encounter was consensual.
