Middle School Soccer: LaFayette boys win, girls tie in season opener

The LaFayette Middle School Ramblers fought through extremely soggy field conditions and put a damper on the night for the Dade Wolverines with a 6-0 victory in their home and season soccer opener Monday night.

Haidon Pickard picked up the hat trick for the Ramblers (1-0), while Austin Deering and Caden Hinton each found the net once. Daniel Lopez also scored for LaFayette on a penalty kick.

Hayden Rainwater had two saves in goal, while head coach Chase Horne listed Carter Golden and Joey Durham has defensive standouts.

In the girls’ game, Haley Fisher scored the lone goal for the Lady Ramblers in a 1-1 tie with the Lady Wolverines.

The games did not count in the NGAC standings.

LaFayette is scheduled to play non-conference games at Chattanooga Valley on Thursday, starting with the girls’ game at 4:30 p.m.
