USPS extending hours for holidays

The U.S. Postal Services is offering extended hours for the holiday season at a facility in Odessa and a facility in Midland. Extended hours began Dec. 8 and will run through Dec. 22.

USPS in Odessa, 4551 E. 52nd St., will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The facility in Midland, 612 Veterans Air Park, will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.

These designated offices will provide full retail services, including stamp sales and package acceptance. In addition, several post offices not listed already offer retail hours on Saturdays and after 5 p.m.

Customers can check USPS website and/or call 1-800-ASK-USPS for hours at specific post offices.

For delivery in anticipation of Christmas, the Postal Service recommends keeping the following mailing and shipping deadlines in mind:

Tuesday, APO/FPO/DPO Priority Mail and First Class Mail.Friday, USPS Retail Ground.Dec. 20, Priority Mail and First Class Mail.Dec. 22, Priority Mail Express.
