‘Death of a Salesman’
Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre kicks off its season with the Arthur Miller classic, “Death of a Salesman,” which runs Friday, Feb. 9, through Sunday, Feb. 25.
Performances take place at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $17 and can be purchased at www.ticketfly.com or by calling the box office at 570-823-1875.
For those interested in learning more about the show and its author, a talkback will be held with Dr. Stephen Marino, founding editor of the Arthur Miller Journal, after the Sunday, Feb. 18, matinee performance. There is no additional charge for the talk.

Sem Presents! Mr. Popper’s Penguins
“Mr. Popper’s Penguins” hits the stage at the Kirby Center for Creative Arts at Wyoming Seminary on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m.
Painter and decorator by day, Mr. Popper spends his time dreaming of Antarctic adventures. He is astounded when one day a packing crate arrives on his doorstep and a penguin waddles out.
The musical adaptation of the Richard and Florence Atwater book is filled with original songs and performing penguin puppets.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children.

College students can take a break from homework this weekend to have some winter fun.
Montage Mountain, 1000 Montage Mountain Road, hosts College SnowJam on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The day includes skiing, snowtubing, rail jam, games, live entertainment, food, kegs and more.
In advance, lift tickets (from noon to 9 p.m.) are $20, rentals are $15, snowtubing is $20 and rail jam entry is $10. Regular ticket rates will apply if purchased the day of the event.

‘Back to the Eighties with Jessie’s Girl’
Travel back in time with ’80s tribute band Jessie’s Girl.
On Friday, Feb. 9, the band will perform its“Back to the Eighties” show for all ages at the Ice Box Sports Complex, 800 Providence Road, Scranton, at 8 p.m.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and EJ the DJ will spin tunes before Jessie’s Girl takes the stage.
The band is known for high-energy performances and signature looks, reminiscent of the decade of Rubik’s Cubes, Spandex and DayGlo. Fans can expect to hear Jessie’s Girl’s take on classics including, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Shadows of the Night” and more.
The event, presented by the Piazza Law Group, Sheeley’s Drug Store and Coors Light, benefits Friends of the Scranton Knights, and a portion of the ticket sales will go to the organization.

Shiver by the River
Beat cabin fever and get active this weekend.
Scranton Running Company holds Shiver by the River on Saturday, Feb. 10. Race registration is 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.
Participants have the options of a 5k run, a 10k run and a two-mile walk along Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. All races begin at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is available online at runsignup.com/shiverbytheriver2 until Thursday, Feb. 8 at 11:59 p.m.
Runners who pre-registered can pick up their registration packets on Friday, Feb. 9 from noon to 7 p.m. at Scranton Running Company, 3 W. Olive St.
