Wisconsin Badgers senior Jake Linhart signs with AHL’s Rochester Americans
Defenseman Jake Linhart became the third member of the University of Wisconsin men’s hockey 2018 senior class to sign a professional contract.
Linhart joined the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans on an amateur tryout contract, the team announced Friday.
He joined forwards Ryan Wagner (AHL’s Chicago Wolves) and Matt Ustaski (ECHL’s Jacksonville Icemen), whose signings were announced Thursday, as seniors who are moving on to pro hockey.
Linhart, a Brookfield native, played in 142 of a possible 143 games during his UW career, scoring 15 goals and recording 60 points. He was an all-Big Ten second-team selection in 2017.
Rochester’s general manager is Randy Sexton, whose son, Patrick, is a Badgers defenseman.
