Second suspect arrested in Florence man’s shooting death
FLORENCE, S.C. -- The second suspect in the Aug. 1 shooting death of a Florence man at a South Church Street residence is now in custody.
Rosune Lamarr Carelock, 33, of 848 Hampton Grace Avenue, Lancaster, was taken into custody Monday evening by Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies and SLED agents, according to a release from the Florence Police Department. Carelock was booked into the Florence County Detention Center shortly after midnight Tuesday on charges of murder, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the release.
He was also served with two warrants for failure to appear, according to the detention center’s Website.
As of Tuesday morning he was being held without bond pending a bond hearing before a circuit court judge.
Daquan Talik Jameson, 26, of 1762 Lakota Drive, Apartment B, Florence, was arrested Aug. 23 and charged with murder and conspiracy. He is being held without bond, according to the detention center’s Website.
They are charged in the Aug. 1 shooting death of Calvin Morris Whitfield III, at 417 South Church Street. Florence Police responded at 11:15 p.m. that Wednesday night and arrived to find Whitfield wounded. He was transported to a Florence area hospital where he later died of his injuries.
