Woman accused of animal cruelty, dog underweight, dehydrated
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire woman’s been accused of animal cruelty after her 2-year-old pitbull was declared underweight, dehydrated, anemic and suffering from skin issues.
The dog was found in a park and brought to the Manchester Animal Hospital in April. She should have weighed 40 to 60 pounds, but only weighed 26.2 pounds.
Police later determined that the dog, named Daisy, was owned by one of the women who had brought her to the hospital. Twenty-eight-year-old Megan Ramos-Heredia was charged with cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor. She had owned the dog since December.
A number for Ramos-Heredia couldn’t be found.
The dog is recovering.
