San Antonio Rampage extend home winning streak, beat Texas Stars
The San Antonio Rampage won their sixth straight home game, beating the Texas Stars 4-2 on Sunday at the AT&T Center.
The Rampage have won 10 of their last 11 games at home and improved to 15-17-1 on the year, while the Stars fall to 17-11-4. San Antonio and Texas were meeting for the fourth time in 10 days, with each side claiming two victories.
The Rampage led 2-0 at the end of the first period behind goals from Ryan Olsen and Austin Poganski. San Antonio used tallies from Zach Sanford and Conner Bleackley less than a minute apart in the second period to take a 4-1 advantage into the third.
Joel L’Esperance’s second goal of the match marked the only scoring in the final period.
Tyler Wotherspoon and Mackenzie MacEachern each earned two assists, while Jordan Kyrou notched one to give him points in 11 straight matches — one shy of a franchise record.
San Antonio goalie Jordan Binnington made 37 saves against 39 shots.
The Rampage host the Manitoba Moose at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
