March 13, 2019

BULLHEAD CITY — Bullhead City police have released the name of the woman killed in an apartment fire Saturday night.

Willia Belle Dale, 75, died after her residence, in the 1500 block of Sierra Vista Drive, caught fire at about 8:40 p.m., said spokeswoman Emily Fromelt of the Bullhead City Police Department.

Fire department spokeswoman Lori Viles said that firefighters worked aggressively to knock down the fire and gain control, but found the victim dead at the scene.

The American Red Cross was contacted regarding assistance for tenants in two adjoining units, Viles said Saturday night.

She said Tuesday that the fire started in Unit 7 of the eight-apartment building. She said Units 6 and 8 each had a single occupant who was displaced by the fire.

Viles said the two apartments sustained smoke damage.

It wasn’t known whether they had been allowed to return to their apartments.

No other units were affected, Viles said.

The investigation is continuing, she said.
