Ansonia town/city clerk changed with disorderly conduct
ANSONIA — The city/town clerk was arrested over the weekend on a disorderly conduct charge following what police said were a number of loud domestic disputes at her Prospect Street home.
Police said they charged Janet Vitarius Waugh after being called to the home four times Saturday.
Waugh was released on $1,000 bond and appeared in Derby Superior Court Monday. A message was left Tuesday seeking comment from her.
Waugh is serving her second term as an elected official.
Acting Chief Andrew Cota said Waugh wanted someone evicted from the home and was told legal steps to follow. However, when police were called a fourth time she was arrested, Cota said.
