Norman E. Arseneau

Norm Arseneau, 78, of St. Anne, passed away Saturday (Feb. 2, 2019).

He was born June 14, 1940, in Martinton, the son of Lowell and Helen (LaReau) Arseneau. Norm married Dorothy Croy on Sept. 20, 1958, in Martinton. She preceded him in death July 19, 2003.

Norm retired from Bumper to Bumper in St. Anne. Following his retirement, he enjoyed mowing and woodworking. He enjoyed driving his John Deere and riding his Gold Wing motorcycle. He always had a joke for everyone and liked a dry martini. Norm enjoyed attending the many activities of his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them.

Norm was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a crash rescue firefighter.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Karla Arseneau, of Kankakee; one daughter and son-in-law, Randi and Joe Kelso, of Bourbonnais; six grandchildren, Tayler and Tim Oswald, Paige Arseneau, Sydney Arseneau and her fiancé, Jesse Heise, Sophie Arseneau, Kayla Kelso and Payton Kelso; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson Heise, Mallory Heise and Lyla Shae Heise; and one brother and sister-in-law, Ebner and Charlee Arseneau, of San Jose, Calif.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy Arseneau, Norm was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeff Arseneau; and one brother, Roger Arseneau.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, also at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in St. Anne Township Cemetery.
