South Pratt Parkway to Close Overnight Wednesday, Nov. 1 for Bridge Work
South Pratt Parkway in south-central Longmont will be closed overnight Wednesday and Nov. 1 for bridge work. The closures will run from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The road will be closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians between Delaware and Boston avenues while girders for the South Pratt Parkway bridge replacement project are delivered and installed, a city news release stated.
Girders will be unloaded by two large cranes and put into place on the east side of the new bridge during the closures.
A detour route will use Boston and Delaware to get to South Main Street for north-south travel. Parklane and Fairlane avenues will be inaccessible from South Pratt during the road closures.
Parking will not be allowed on Boston between South Pratt and South Coffman Street from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Nov. 2, because trucks bringing the girders will arrive Tuesday evening and park along Boston for unloading overnight Wednesday, the release stated.
