Friends of the late Corbin Hillaker made a last memorial drive in his honor Tuesday. Two years ago, the 15-year-old Corbin was found with his siblings, dead at the hand of their father/step-father, who then took his own life.

Hillaker would have graduated from Preston High School this year, and his friends, seniors now, wanted to remember him as they did at the time of the tragedy.

Carsen Wilson, Bracken Oldham, Daxton Christensen, Jase Burnett, Travis Ward, Tucker Daley, Yantzen Hobbs, Mark Nate, Nick Golightly, Wyatt Peters and Josh Burton affixed flags to their vehicles and slowly proceeded from Burger King south on State Street to Preston High School during their lunch hour.

The first time the drive was made was the day of the funeral for Hillaker and his siblings on Feb. 24, 2017. His friends chose the flags in honor of his patriotism and desire to serve in the military.

“We are graduating this year, ” said Carsen Wilson, making it the last time he and his friends will be together to mark the date with the drive.
