LINDSAY — Services for Joleen Aase, 75, Newman Grove, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery at Newman Grove.
Visitation will begin two hours prior to services Thursday at the church.
She died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Newman Grove Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Joleen, the daughter of Gerhard and Emma (Hanke) Jaixen, was born Jan. 3, 1943, at Humphrey. She graduated from Humphrey St. Frances with the class of 1960.
On Sept. 17, 1960, she married Allan Aase in South Dakota.
She was a member of the Catholic church. She was also a Newman Grove VFW auxiliary member. She enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a strong woman with determination to make sure her family was safe and happy.
The couple owned and operated the Grove Bar and restaurant in Newman Grove for many years. They also operated the Bowling Alley in Newman Grove and managed motels in Colorado in the late 80s and early 90s.
Survivors include her children, Keven Aase and spouse Rose-Marie of Norfolk, Barb Johnson and Marion McCuiston of Newman Grove; three grandchildren, Mindy Enriquez and spouse Jorge of Petersburg, Alaska, Troy McCuiston and spouse Whitney of Omaha and Shyanne McCuiston and friend Keen Jackson of Jacksonville, N.C.; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin Jaxsen.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Allan, four brothers and a sister.
