Divers search for man who went missing in Connecticut River
EAST HADDAM, Conn. (AP) — Divers plan to resume searching for a missing swimmer in the Connecticut River.
WFSB-TV reports a 40-year-old man from Meriden was with his family on Sunday when he disappeared around 6 p.m. while swimming at a beach in the village of Hadlyme.
Dive teams from Middletown and Portland searched until darkness for the man, whose name has not been released. They were expected to continue the search on Monday.
The river has been temporarily closed to recreational activities in the area because of the search.
