DUI

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Scott R. Rush Jr., 33, of Manteno, for driving under the influence of alcohol on April 11. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 1:28 a.m. observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Illinois Route 50 at Amberstone Parkway. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Rush. Rush showed signs of alcohol impairment.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Maurice A. Washington, 30, of Hammond, Ind., for fleeing and eluding a police officer on April 10. According to a release, a trooper on patrol at 1:43 p.m. in Iroquois County observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 57 southbound at mile marker 269. The trooper stopped the vehicle. The vehicle pulled to the right shoulder, and then took off. The vehicle was located on I-57 southbound at mile marker 235.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Ahseniah Malone, 30, of Momence, for driving under the influence of alcohol on April 8. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 9:51 p.m. observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Illinois Route 17 at 4000E Road. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Malone. Malone showed signs of alcohol impairment.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Erik L. Williams, 45, of Richton Park, for driving under the influence of alcohol on April 6. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Iroquois County at 9:55 p.m., observed a semi swerving all over the roadway on I-57 northbound at milepost 290. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Williams. Williams showed signs of alcohol impairment.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Amy N. Taylor, 26, of Gilman, for driving under the influence of alcohol on April 6. According to a release, a trooper was dispatched to a crash on Interstate 57 southbound at mile marker 280 in Iroquois County. The trooper arrived on scene and spoke with the driver, Taylor. Taylor showed signs of alcohol impairment.

Bradley police arrested Ariyana N. Anderson, 20, of Bradley, for driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound and possession of a controlled substance on April 6. According to a report, an officer made a traffic stop after a complaint was made about an impaired driver on Broadway Street near Prairie Avenue. The officer believed the driver, Anderson, to be under the influence of an intoxicating drug compound. A bag of suspected cocaine was found in the vehicle during a search. A judge released Anderson on a $3,000 recognizance bond for the DUI. She was released on a $10,000 recognizance by another judge on the drug charge.

Bradley police arrested Timothy L. Rogers Jr., 40, of Kankakee, for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC above .08 on March 17. According to a report, an officer on patrol in the area of Schuyler Avenue and Liberty Street stopped a pickup truck for a traffic violation. The officer spoke with the driver, Rogers. The officer smelled the odor of alcohol on the breath of Rogers. Rogers provided a breath sample at the station with a result .168 BAC.

Robbery

A pizza delivery man told Kankakee police he was robbed of pizzas, cash and a knife when he went to make a delivery at a home in the 300 block of South Harrison Avenue on April 4. According to a report, one of the three suspected robbers pointed a gun at the victim.

Sexual abuse

Kankakee County Sheriff’s police arrested Joseph M. Hamlin, 49, of Chebanse, for aggravated criminal sexual abuse on April 2. According to a court document, the alleged incidents occurred April 2, April 3 and between May 1, 2018 and Aug. 31, 2018. A judge set Hamlin’s bond at $75,000.

Shots fired

According to Kankakee police, a house in the 800 block of East Merchant Street was struck multiple times by gunfire at approximately 10:43 p.m. on April 2. A resident said she was in bed when she heard six or seven shots. There were four adults and four juveniles in the house. Shell casings and projectiles were recovered by investigators.

Weapons

Kankakee police arrested John Rosenthal, 38, of Kankakee, for unlawful use of a weapon and no valid FOID card on April 7. According to a report, a man, Rosenthal, was found on a three-wheel bicycle with a gun in the 400 block of South Wildwood Avenue. A status check revealed Rosenthal did not have a valid FOID card.

Bourbonnais police arrested Michael J. Rodgers-Pizano for felon in possession of a firearm on March 30. According to a prosecutor, two handguns were found in a book bag Rodgers-Pizano is accused of placing in a garbage can outside a home on Jordan Drive. The owner of the home found the bag in the trash can. He watched surveillance video and observed it being placed in the can. He called police after finding it. Officers had been to the house earlier in the day at the request of Bradley police. They were looking for a vehicle involved in an incident where a gun was displayed in Bradley. They believed the car would be found at the home on Jordan Drive. A judge set Rodgers-Pizano at $100,000.
