Dragon Trot to be held Saturday
Students from the Kenmont Montessori School decided to do a selfless act and host a Dragon Trot at 7:30 a.m. Saturday to help raise money for families who have children with cancer.
Kenmont Director Sonia Saenz said when the students came up with the idea to have the 1-mile Dragon Trot, faculty and staff members thought it was going to be a small event, but it ended up turning into a larger event.
The school’s goal is to have at least 250 runners register for the Dragon Trot. As of now, 175 have registered.
“Our goal is $5,000,” Saenz said. “The nice thing about it is it was actually the students’ idea, they wanted to do this run, but we didn’t think it was going to get that big.”
