Las Cruces film festival to honor Johnny Galecki, Don Foster in 2017

Actor Johnny Galeki will be honored by the Las Cruces International Film Festival.

Jonny Galecki will be honored by the Las Cruces International Film Festival in March 2017.

“The Big Bang Theory” actor will receive the “Outstanding Achievement in Comedy Award” from the festival.

He will also take part in a free Q&A workshop moderated by Don Foster on March 11, 2017.

Foster will receive the “Mark Medoff Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment Writing Award,” during the 2017 festival.

With a professional acting career that spans more than 25 years, Galecki is best known for his roles on two hugely popular television series, “Roseanne” and “The Big Bang Theory.” He currently stars on the CBS sitcom, which just started filming its 10th season. As socially awkward physicist Leonard Hofstadter, Galecki has garnered an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination.

Don Foster will also be honored at the Las Cruces International Film Festival in March 2017.

In additional to his comedic talent, Galecki started his production company Alcide Bava Productions, which is focused on developing TV series and feature films. He teamed up with writer/director Bobby Miller to executive produce the film “Master Cleanse,” which premiered this year at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival.

Foster is a writer and executive producer who began his television career in 1990 as a staff writer on the television comedy “Roseanne.”

After four years with the show, he became a writer/producer for the ABC comedy “Dharma & Greg” for its full five seasons.

He began working on the CBS comedy “Two and a Half Men” with its pilot in 2003 and served as co-executive and executive producer over his seven years with the show. He went on to be an executive consultant for “The Big Bang Theory” beginning with its pilot in 2007 and served in that capacity for four seasons. He also served as an executive producer for the CBS comedy “Mike & Molly” for its first 3 seasons.
