Suspected burglar caught in Milford
MILFORD — A Bridgeport Avenue business got a late night visit on Christmas Eve and it wasn’t from Santa.
Police say they responded at 11:55 p.m. Monday evening to a burglary alarm at the unnamed business. At about the same time, the business owner contacted police saying he could see a male on surveillance cameras, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans inside the business parking lot.
Officers who arrived found a male matching the description hiding on the property. Isaias Mendoza-Perez, 39, of 1020 Bridgeport Avenue, was charged with third degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit burglary, larceny and multiple counts of criminal mischief.
Police say a preliminary investigation showed three other businesses in the area had either been broken into or an attempt had been made.
Mendoza-Perez was held on a $100,000 bond and has a court date of Dec. 26, 2018.
