Three injured in Wabasha accident Saturday afternoon
Three people were injured when two vehicles collided on Hwy. 61 in Wabasha Saturday afternoon.
Beverly Ann Charlton, 76, of Kenyon, Minn., was turning left to head west on Industrial Park Avenue after driving north on Hwy. 61 around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, when her vehicle was struck by Alyssa Ann Norby, 20, of Dennison, Minn., who was headed south on Hwy. 61. Norby’s vehicle pushed Charlton’s into a southwest ditch, hitting a stop sign during the course of the accident.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Charlton turned in front of Norby and did not see her coming.
Charlton, Norby and Charlton’s passenger, Ralph George Charlton, 77, of Kenyon, Minn., were taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Wabasha with non-life threatening injuries. Norby’s passenger, Zachary Robert Whetstone, 20, of Crown Point, Ind., was not injured in the accident, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office assisted the state patrol on the scene of the accident.
