Man attacked with machete during San Diego robbery attempt
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Police are searching for a suspect they say attacked a man with a machete during robbery attempt in San Diego.
Officer Robert Heims says the 18-year-old victim was walking on a residential street late Wednesday when the suspect demanded his wallet and punched him in the face.
Heims says the two men began fighting and the victim was stabbed with the machete in his chest. He was also cut on an arm, wrist and hip. He was hospitalized with injuries officials say are non-life-threatening.
The Union-Tribune says Investigators are asking any potential witnesses to come forward as they try to identify the suspect.
